Data Protection
As you may already know, on 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection regulation (GDPR) came into force across all industries, including education. This replaces the data protection act 1998 and is intended to improve the safety and security of personal data held by organisations, and make sure that people understand what information is held about them and why.
We have always taken great care of the personal information we hold about pupils and parents, but the new law means requires further actions to be taken by school.

Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives members of the public the right to access official information held by Public Authorities. Requests should be made in writing to:
Abbots Farm Junior School, Abbotts Way, Rugby. CV21 4AP and will be dealt with within the statutory 1 month of receiving the request.
As well as responding to requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the school is required to publish information proactively. If you wish to request access to information, please contact our School Business Manager, Mrs Bull via admin2421@welearn365.com and ask for a subject access request form.
The Freedom of Information Act requires every School to have a publication scheme, approved by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and to publish information covered by the scheme. The scheme sets out our commitment to make certain classes of information routinely available, such as policies and procedures, minutes of meetings, annual reports and financial information.
