Family Support

Personal development and pastoral support are really important to us here at AFJS. We recognise that everyone needs a little extra help at some point in their lives and we will do everything that we possibly can to provide that support for both your child and yourselves if ever you need it.

Our Children and Families Lead, Miss Dolan, is always available to support with any issues, no matter how big or small. She can be contacted via the school office or by emailing pastoral2421@welearn365.com

If we do not have the staff, resources or expertise to help you within our school team, Miss Dolan will also be able to signpost you to other external support and can even help you put in requests or referrals if you need that friendly support to do so.

Counselling Support

If you feel that you would like to access some external counselling support for your child, here are some local private providers that we are aware of. We cannot vouch for them directly but have been made aware of them through families or other local services that have used them in the past.

Sycamore Counselling Service is a local Charity offering a confidential and professional counselling service for adults, children and young people from throughout Warwickshire. They try and keep costs as low as possible and have a structured donation system in place according to ability to pay, which they will talk to you about when you engage with the service. You can visit their website at https://sycamorecounselling.org.uk/

Warwickshire Family Information Service

You can also access support for yourself and your child direct from Warwickshire’s Children and Families service if you prefer. They have an excellent website with many different areas where they can offer advice and support. You can go straight to the correct page by clicking the image below

SHOUT!

Shout is a free text messaging service which provides 24/7 support for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. It aims to connects people in need to trained volunteers who provide help at a time when it is most needed; enabling them to move from a moment of crisis to a calm state and form a plan for next steps to find longer-term support. As texting is private and silent, it opens up a whole new way to find help.
It provides instant support – you can have a conversation at any time, at school, at home, on the bus, anywhere. This service is for everyone, but for younger people especially; texting is a trusted and familiar form of communication, and using text rather than apps makes it simple and accessible for everyone with a phone.
