The weather has been better than expected and the children have been enjoying their activities this morning, even though some of them are very tired after not getting much sleep last night! Group 1 and 2 have been tackling different climbing activities this morning......

Condover day 1

The Spelling Shed app really is a great way to help your child improve their spelling skills. Make sure you have your child's log in to get started with their home learning and if not, ask their class teacher to re-issue it for you.Does your child get weekly spellings? What do I recommend to families I work with and during workshops (and use in my own home too) for practising spelling if:a) Your child finds homework dysregulating?b) Your child has handwriting difficulties, so it is hard to read their own spelling write outs to reinforce their memory for the words?d) Your child finds writing anxiety provoking?e) Your child finds making mistakes anxiety provoking?e) Your child has a strong interest in using technology?f) All the above (you aren’t alone!)?I recommend inputting your child’s spelling words into Spelling Shed App, and letting them play the word games. Start with the easiest, and gently work up. Doesn’t work for everyone (our children are all unique), but has been helpful to many.This isn’t an Ad (I have zero affiliation with them, despite all my recommendations). This has been a useful hack in my own home and for many of my clients, so I am hoping it can lead to some easier spelling practise in some of your homes too!Spelling Shed ... See MoreSee Less
